About Me

evi_bavaria: I was born and raised in Oberammergau, Germany, a very artistic tourist town in the Bavarian Alps. Loving travelling & foreign languages I became a flight attendant for Lufthansa. In 1988, I received my teaching degree from UNC in Greeley and enjoyed being a substitute teacher (mostly foreign languages and art) while raising my son. I love the arts, creating books with water color sketches of our travels, and enjoy nature photography. My art work also includes wooden signs with a router, designing business cards, and children portraits. In the winter of 2012-2013 I joined the Northern Colorado Woodcarvers Club, and I really enjoy creating Cottonwood Bark Cottages. I met my husband, Paul Opler, in 1992. Since 1998 we have been teaching summer classes for SNFC (part of SFSU). We are also again teaching classes for the Rocky Mountain Conservancy about the Butterflies of Rocky Mountain National Park. I specialize in presentations on the Migration of the Monarch, always stressing the importance of their only caterpillar host plant, the Milkweed. We also have given talks to different groups about our travel adventures.
